THE FACTS ABOUT RESTORATION

  • Prop 3 benefits rivers, streams and fisheries with $2.5 billion to restore crucial habitat for salmon and other endangered species statewide, and $1 billion for more efficient agricultural and urban water use.
  • Prop 3 includes $200 million for the San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority to restore Bay marshes for fish and wildlife and shoreline flood protection, work that the Measure AA parcel tax started.

THE FACTS ABOUT BAY POLLUTION

  • Measure T will help increase San Jose’s resilience and reduce pollution to help make the city a Bay Smart Community – upgrading 32,000 storm drains and 1,100 miles of the city’s aging storm sewer system.
  • Measure W will raise $2.4 billion over 30 years to help reduce automobile traffic and cut greenhouse gas emissions that cause climate change, and decreases stormwater pollution of the Bay.

THE FACTS ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE

  • San Francisco Proposition A starts sea level rise adaptation work before flooding increases in frequency. Floods will occur more often from severe storms and up to five feet of additional sea level rise is expected this century.
  • Measure V will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions from long commutes, which will help to limit climate change.

"Individuals can make a difference. Groups of individuals working together can make an even greater difference. The price of saving the Bay will always be the vigilance of concerned citizens."
